Privacy Policy

Drain It (the "App") is a free, ad-supported puzzle game made by Umar Rashid Choudhry ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data is used when you play, and your choices. The short version: we don't have accounts, we don't collect your personal information ourselves, and your game progress stays on your device. The App shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google collects some data to show and measure those ads, as described below.
1. Data we handle ourselves
- No account, no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email, phone number or any login.
- Game progress stays on your device. Your levels, stars, coins, boosters and settings (sound, music, vibration) are saved only in the App's local storage on your iPhone. We don't upload them to any server of ours. Deleting the App deletes them.
- No analytics of our own. We don't use our own analytics or tracking tools.
- Support emails. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to answer you.
2. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App shows ads (short videos you can choose to watch for rewards, and occasional full-screen ads between levels) using Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited. To serve ads, limit how often you see the same ad (frequency capping), measure ad performance and prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK in the App may collect:
- Device identifiers: the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS) only if you allow tracking in Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, and app- or developer-scoped identifiers (such as the IDFV).
- Approximate location: estimated from your IP address (coarse location only; the App never asks for or uses your precise GPS location).
- Device and usage data: device model, operating system and version, language, the app version, and how you interact with ads (ads seen, taps, video views).
- Diagnostics: crash logs and performance data related to ads.
Google uses this data as described in its own policies: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. We don't receive any of this data about you personally; we only see aggregated ad reports.
3. Your consent choices
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: when you first reach the home screen, a consent message from Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP, an IAB TCF certified consent tool) asks whether ads may use your data for personalisation. If you don't consent, you'll only see non-personalised ads, which still use limited data (such as coarse location) to serve and measure ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices in the App.
- Apple App Tracking Transparency (ATT): the App asks your permission before the advertising identifier (IDFA) can be used for tracking. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", the IDFA isn't shared and ads are less personalised. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- You can also reset your advertising identifier or limit ad tracking in your iOS settings.
4. Children
The App is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. All ads in the App are restricted to content suitable for all ages (Google's "G" maximum ad content rating). If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
5. Photos
The pictures revealed in the App are free photos from Pexels, bundled inside the App and credited in Settings → Photo credits. Showing them sends no data to Pexels. Tapping a credit opens the photographer's page on Pexels in your browser, where Pexels' own privacy policy applies.
6. Sharing and selling
We don't sell your personal information and we don't share it with anyone, except the ad-related data collected directly by Google's SDK as described in section 2.
7. Data retention and security
Game progress stays on your device until you delete the App. Support emails are kept only as long as needed to help you. Data collected by Google is retained under Google's policies.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't hold personal data about you (other than support emails), most requests are best made through the in-App consent choices above or directly with Google. You can always contact us and we'll help. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Changes
We may update this policy, for example if the App or its ad provider changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
